#Theweekthatwas @ 11/05/2025

A week of new spaces and familiar faces taught me that:

  1. In a tit-for-tat world, escalation is inevitable

  2. Sometimes there are "good old days" and sometimes there are better new ones

  3. If there’s one thing that should be celebrated more than peace, let it be justice because you cannot achieve the former when the latter is not in place

  4. When we're waiting for a trial to pass or seeking something better, we tend to disregard the learning opportunity of the waiting period

  5. Joy can be found in the simplest of experiences

  6. When we're capable of inflicting, supporting, accepting or ignoring the forced famine of children, then we're capable of any evil

  7. When inequity favours certain segments of society, those segments will go to any extent to maintain such inequities

  8. Kindness isn't giving in to every request; instead, sometimes holding back is the best form of kindness

  9. We learn more from our struggles, our challenges, our failures than we do from our successes

  10. When we do things mainly to please others or to get them off our backs, we will eventually run out of steam

  11. Instead, if our intentions and objectives are based on a purpose that aligns with our values, we're much more likely to endure

  12. It is man's nature to keep wanting more; controlling this desire is one of his greatest challenges
