#Theweekthatwas @ 23/02/2025

A contemplative week had several lessons:

  1. One of a parent's greatest tests is letting go

  2. The period of life where children think they're smarter than their ancient parents seems to carry on forever

  3. There's a difference between tenacity and crossing the line

  4. Faster and cheaper is not necessarily better in the long run

  5. We tend to view balance as a two-dimensional concept when that's not always the case

  6. Being balanced implies equality or being in the middle but a balanced life doesn't mean each aspect of life should attract the same energy, focus or time

  7. It seems that our lives have become so full of busyness, distractions, time-fillers and boredom-busters that we no longer prioritise time to think or reflect

  8. Entering into a negotiation knowing your bottom (or top) line simplifies the decision-making process

  9. If feedback feels uncomfortable, we should consider how much growth is on offer should we choose to accept it

  10. We are often fooled into spending our time doing something good when we could, instead, be doing something better

  11. Honesty is the basis of trust which, in turn, is the basis for any healthy relationship
