#Theweekthatwas @ 16/03/2025

An emotionally-draining week, taught me that:

  1. Being principled is admirable; being dogmatic, not so

  2. If the desire for the correct outcome is stronger than our desire to be right, then debating becomes an art form

  3. If your principles and decisions remain constant across different groups of people, congratulations; if not, your biases have the better of you

  4. Wisdom amplifies through patience

  5. Sadly, some judge crimes against humanity differently depending on who's committing the crime or who the victims are

  6. We live in times when criminals are applauded while protesters against such criminals are arrested and deported

  7. Reciprocity should never be expected but should always be fulfilled

  8. Charity isn't simply a get out of sin free card

  9. If my mantra is purely "me and my family", then I'm missing out on community

  10. How you define who "your community" is, can make a significant difference to your decision-making

  11. Commemorating the fallen together reminds us of the fragility of individuals and the strength in community
