A week of adjustment taught me that:

  1. When we're not honest and clear in our communications, we're doing others and ourselves a disservice

  2. When things are out of our control, transferring responsibility to the Ultimate Controller is emancipating

  3. Learning is not complete until it translates into informed action

  4. We never know who may be watching us, learning from us

  5. Our priorities show themselves in how we choose to spend our time and money

  6. Taking on responsibility provides opportunity for growth

  7. Having responsibility isn't always a choice, taking it always is

  8. Without recognition and challenge, it's very likely that superficiality governs our aspirations

  9. When we know what's needed to progress and we choose not to tread that path, then we have no grounds for complaint when we stagnate

  10. Confidence and modesty or humility are not mutually exclusive

  11. Societal advancement has its pros and cons; we can be grateful for both

  12. When our energy cups are empty, we cannot give of our best to others

  13. Avoiding difficult decisions simply delays the inevitable
