#Theweekthatwas @ 05/07/2026

The first week of the second half of the year taught me:

  1. It takes some of us decades to learn our parents did their best with what they had

  2. Just like intense heat is required to extract metal's strength, we need to experience some heat to realise our own inner strength

  3. We can choose to act in light of circumstance or in spite of it

  4. Many of us have become accepting of certain untruths and falsities to the extent we openly quip: "Well, everyone does it"

  5. Even if "everyone does it", it doesn't necessarily make it right

  6. Sports and politics do not mix unless it fits certain parties' purposes

  7. Ignorance is a primary ingredient for fostering mass hate amongst people

  8. When we're hooked in to something greater than life itself, that's when we can truly find ourselves

  9. Human migration is said to have started 2.89 million years ago; nationalism is 250 years old… hmm

  10. If your religion preaches hate, it's time for some soul searching

  11. When outcomes are clear and aligned to a greater purpose, tactics to achieve those outcomes can change

  12. For many of us, our life's aims are more attuned to increasing our levels of comfort than towards growth
