#Theweekthatwas @ 06/10/2024.
A week of connection to past, present and future, taught me that:
The value of our time isn't proportional to how much money we make in that hour, rather it's about the real connections we've forged, the difference that moment may make in future, and the potential for growth which that minute provides
The stories we tell ourselves are often the reasons we keep ourselves back from achieving our full potential
An attitude of gratitude is what separates the thriving from the barely surviving
Sometimes our trials are ones of difficulty and sometimes it's of too much ease; in either case, how we respond determines our ultimate success #fitnah
When faced with a trial, instead of seeking to blame or label, our first response should be introspection, followed by becoming the best versions of ourselves
If we don't have control of our thoughts, our minds will be filled with someone else's, which will ultimately control us instead
The colonialist machine has, for centuries, used the same playbook with overwhelming success and yet, despite existing in our self-labelled Age of Knowledge, we're still not immune to their plots
We still see far too many conflating the faith of a people with the people themselves: Hinduism and Hindus, Judaism and Jews, Christianity and Christians, Islam and Muslims; they're not the same thing
The victim mentality is no longer a mental health issue, it has become a tool, an excuse and a veil for perpetrating mass violence, destruction and gen0cide
Having more is not the antidote to ingratitude, gratitude is the antidote to ingratitude
Knowledge-sharing, partnering with others and being genuinely interested in helping others succeed drives your own success and this is the antithesis of what capitalism has taught us #abundancementality #theresenough
Everything is created twice, once in our minds and then in reality
As long as hope remains, optimism becomes possible and survival inevitable
