#Theweekthatwas @ 09/02/2025
A taxing week had several lessons:
It’s human nature to want what we don't have
If the biggest concern we have in our lives is about how many people are working from home, we've lost our perspective on life
People who think they rule the world are up for a serious wake up call
We live in a world that is more interested in diplomacy than humanity
Our biases are designed as shortcuts to speed up our thinking and, like any shortcut, there’s bound to be some repercussion from using it
Excellence is not the same as perfection; one is achievable daily, the other is an enigma
Acquiring knowledge without applying thinking is as pointless as trying to quinch your thirst by putting water in your mouth and simply spitting it out again
Death, to some, is the end; the reality is, it's the beginning of what's next
"Grief is the price you pay for love"
Intuition without experience is risky; intuition with knowledge and experience, can be powerful
Being strong is less about overpowering others than it is about overpowering oneself
Knowing oneself is the foundation of a successful life
Our legacies are stories discussed in the future about our past which can only be made in the present
