#Theweekthatwas @ 13/04/2025

An eventful week of listening, taught me that:

  1. Sometimes a light is true and sometimes there's an illusion of light... we need to be super careful about which we choose to follow

  2. It's interesting how many people are suddenly spouting about a certain country's foreign policies because it affects their pockets but are silent when that same country spends billions on killing thousands of innocent human beings #notmyproblem

  3. When in victim mode, one is always starting from a position of relative weakness

  4. Caring comes in many forms

  5. No matter how old we are, we should always be open to feedback and be willing to learn from it

  6. There are some of us who run towards an opportunity to appear in a photo with certain people at certain places and there are others of us who run away from it just as eagerly

  7. The moment we begin to think our success is our own, is the moment our downfall is triggered

  8. Privilege is such a powerful tool that can either be used purely for one's own benefit or to benefit others as well #allyship

  9. If you have a platform or an opportunity to raise your voice for those who cannot, then you’re making good use of your #privilege

  10. Silence and fence-sitting favours the oppressor #speakup

  11. Integrity is a word that might be light on the tongue but weighs heavily on the leadership scale

  12. Some life experiences are so rare, it's worth losing a few hours of sleep over

  13. Being too easily offended reduces our resilience and could weaken our faith or beliefs

  14. Accepting offensiveness from someone could be seen as giving consideration or power to that person #whocares

  15. If our ethics has a certain colour or nationality or gender, we should have them audited
