#Theweekthatwas @ 27/04/2025

Another reflective week, taught me that:

  1. "Lest we forget" and "never again" can seem like empty statements when we continue to remain silent about ongoing atrocities and injustices

  2. It takes one pebble to start an avalanche; never underestimate the impact one person's effort can make

  3. Skill without confidence is like a balloon with no air; confidence without skill is the air with no balloon

  4. It's both hard and easy to be a person of integrity: hard because the truth is not always welcomed, easy because you know where you stand and where you're going

  5. There are no perfect people, only people made perfectly

  6. Being kind and being principled are not the same thing

  7. Just as using logic and rational thinking are regarded as positive traits, so too are understanding one's emotions and knowing when to follow your gut

  8. When you're principled and stand for truth, you will offend some (or many, perhaps)

  9. Nothing in life is without meaning - we just need to be open to the learning opportunity

  10. When we allow ourselves to be led primarily by our feelings, we tend to forget who created those feelings in the first place

  11. As parents, we shouldn't expect our children to fulfill our unfulfilled dreams; instead we should challenge them to be the best versions of themselves
