A week of connecting and listening taught me:

  1. If you go around filling up others' buckets, your own bucket will overflow

  2. Some of us are kinder to others than we are to ourselves

  3. To be successful, choosing the right company should be about inspiration, not comparison

  4. Comparison to others breeds bitterness, comparison to ourselves breeds improvement

  5. Privilege might benefit us but it has the ability to limit us too

  6. Being outcomes focused whilst following a proven effective process develops one’s discernment and provides a shortcut to success

  7. Everything in your life happens for you, not to you

  8. "People don't connect with drama, they connect with meaning"

  9. No one else has the combination of your strengths, your beliefs, your values and your experiences; you are unique - this is your competitive advantage

  10. Lack of persistence is one of the primary reasons why ambitious, capable people don't achieve success

  11. If you're not growing, you're stagnating

  12. There are more people rooting for you than you think

  13. Measuring and celebrating progress is much more effective than waiting for the final outcome to be attained
