#Theweekthatwas @ 03/05/2026

A week of prioritising and accepting reality had much to teach:

  1. Belief is the antidote to hopelessness and complacency

  2. If we think we don't need changing, then we need changing

  3. You can't be in flow if you're not even moving

  4. When all you're focused on is serving yourself, you end up serving the devil himself

  5. Any benefit gained through extremity is usually outweighed by its cost

  6. People hardly take a long hard honest look at themselves unless and until they feel stuck, hit a wall or face a crisis

  7. Political freedom without personal freedom is an incomplete sentence, an open loop

  8. If we do not free our minds of the shackles of our past, we will forever be enslaved

  9. Sometimes our circumstances impact our identity until we recognise that they're independent of each other

  10. Potential without belief is like a match without the striking pad

  11. Growth can only occur when we face our demons without minimising or excusing our behaviour

  12. Ease and hardship are inseparable; like two sides of the same coin

  13. Acceptance of what has been does not mean relinquishing agency over what is yet to come
