#Theweekthatwas @ 10/05/2026

A sobering, emotionally heavy week had many lessons and reminders:

  1. Death is a stark reminder of our ultimate destination

  2. If everything is important, then nothing is important

  3. When we seek ease in everything we do, then we're missing the point

  4. Pondering on death is a sure way to soften the heart

  5. Preparation for a loved one's death can never prepare you for their death

  6. "A good reputation is an invisible fortune", Kaicho Tadashi Nakamura

  7. Your reputation forms a part your children's inheritance and thus, your legacy

  8. Aura is not defined by your loudness, your physique or your wealth; it is defined by your character

  9. Family is the space where you're safe to just be you - with all your warts, worries and weirdness

  10. Grief is a phased but non-linear process

  11. Acceptance and pain are mutually exclusive entities

  12. Sometimes you immediately know when you've witnessed greatness, most times you only see it after the fact
