A week of deep breathing taught me that:

  1. There is only one group who gains anything from war (and it's neither of the warring parties)

  2. Intention has the power to turn the ordinary into extraordinary

  3. There's a certain irony in developing legislation to regulate against bureaucracy

  4. Time, personal growth and context all help in regulating our responses to emotive situations

  5. Reflective practice coupled with consistent action leads to accelerated progress

  6. There's no place for dislike or hate in maintaining justice

  7. Victimhood is a disease which will eat its carrier from the inside

  8. When you're not healed on the inside you can never heal on the outside

  9. Contentment comes from accepting your fallibility, your status as creation and your ultimate end

  10. Every bully meets their match some day

  11. If you see others as wholly inferior to you, then you give yourself license to perform the unthinkable on them

  12. Humanity will always have differences but there are some significant points in time when those differences need to be set aside to unite against a common enemy

  13. Knowing, acknowledging and accepting your weaknesses takes strength

  14. Putting measures in place to mitigate for your weaknesses takes wisdom
