Looking upwards at the tree line and sky through a tubular sculpture

A week of taking a stand taught me that:

  1. When your care for people goes as far as how much you can get out of them, your credit's bound to run out

  2. Delivering on today's needs, ensuring the lights are kept on and making sure the basics are taken care of earns one the right to be more strategic and invest in longer-term value-add #hygienefactors #maslow

  3. While the term public "servant" infers servitude, it does not equate to ill-treatment, abuse or harassment #respect #safety #publicservice

  4. Self-doubt is a dangerous virus which should be treated as soon as it manifests otherwise it will feast on one's confidence, motivation and willingness to act

  5. If we want to have #integrity and stay true our #values, we first need to understand what we really value

  6. It takes tremendous #courage to not follow the blind majority

  7. Institutionalised ways of working, thinking and operating which are grounded primarily on colonialist values and expectations have become archaic and are losing acceptance to a large segment of society #enoughisenough #breakfree

  8. When #systems are built in a particular paradigm perceived as superior, there will be an allergic reaction when the so-called "inferiors" stand up in the ways which are authentic to their culture #haka

  9. Being #present delivers #value in a way that just being busy does not

  10. There are people in your corner whom you don't even know exist #yougotthis

  11. As crazy and upside-down as some of this world has become, optimism and activism will never die as long as there are people willing to raise their voices #silencek!lls #ceasefirenow
