Another insightful week did not disappoint with its lessons:

  1. Like most things in life, adopting technology in our daily lives should be with moderation rather than all or nothing

  2. Having humanity is not conditional yet some make it out to be

  3. When laws are disregarded in some contexts, we should not be surprised when that disregard is used to take advantage in others

  4. If we consistently encourage and support our children to want what others have, we set them up for a life of seeking external gratification

  5. Greed is an insatiable disease

  6. Happiness, like most emotions, is like fine sand in a sifter: it only stays in place for a short, fleeting moment; contentment, on the other hand, is more like rock: remaining in place for a long time

  7. If we consistently protect our children from disappointment (in non-essentials), we fail to give them opportunities to build resistance and resilience

  8. Life is full of signs and signposts; wisdom helps us identify them more clearly

  9. There's a certain sense of peace in knowing that, after the first few experiences, glitz, glamour, lights and sparkles are simply same-old, same-old

  10. Innocence doesn't have a skin colour, race or gender

  11. Biases are insanely powerful levers which propaganda machines knowingly shape and use to manipulate and coerce the masses
