#Theweekthatwas @ 24/05/2026
A heavy week taught me that:
All doors in life operate on proximity sensors: we have to move towards them before they'll open
We have a choice in how we perceive and assign meaning to things and situations
Difference can be a thing of beauty, weaving a diverse tapestry of connected stories; or it can be used as an object of hate and discrimination
When we perceive ourselves as better than others, we endorse a worldview of othering
We can disagree on things and still care deeply about each other as humans
Love is innate, hate is learnt
Serving out of obligation isn't service, it's performance
Paradoxically, the greatest form of empowerment is submission
We all have biases; what matters is how conscious we are of them and whether we choose to apply them or not
If you're part of a team and you still let your ego control your actions, then you're letting your team down
Gratitude is a decision, not a circumstance nor a transaction
The lowest form of gratitude, is being thankful for something you've been given
The highest form of gratitude is being thankful for The Giver
