#Theweekthatwas @ 24/05/2026

A heavy week taught me that:

  1. All doors in life operate on proximity sensors: we have to move towards them before they'll open

  2. We have a choice in how we perceive and assign meaning to things and situations

  3. Difference can be a thing of beauty, weaving a diverse tapestry of connected stories; or it can be used as an object of hate and discrimination

  4. When we perceive ourselves as better than others, we endorse a worldview of othering

  5. We can disagree on things and still care deeply about each other as humans

  6. Love is innate, hate is learnt

  7. Serving out of obligation isn't service, it's performance

  8. Paradoxically, the greatest form of empowerment is submission

  9. We all have biases; what matters is how conscious we are of them and whether we choose to apply them or not

  10. If you're part of a team and you still let your ego control your actions, then you're letting your team down

  11. Gratitude is a decision, not a circumstance nor a transaction

  12. The lowest form of gratitude, is being thankful for something you've been given

  13. The highest form of gratitude is being thankful for The Giver
