A week of shifting focus had lots to teach:
Saying you care is easy; showing it, takes doing
Assumption is one of the brain's ways to speed up our thinking and action
Unfortunately, what the speed provides in terms of gains, it compromises on accuracy
Some of us are so conditioned that we only know (and respond) to being treated like a subordinate
Trying to fool others will work some of the time, trying to fool ourselves will eventually fail every time
Failure to see or acknowledge our character flaws doesn't mean we don’t have them
Many of us have hundreds of digital "friends" and yet do not know the names of our real neighbours
You cannot read the label when you're inside the box
Many of us are not even aware that we're in the box at all
A lantern with a clean glass provides the clearest light
When our life's aim is to chase only material gain, we may well attain it… and lose our souls in the process
Sometimes the people who rub us up the wrong way are the ones who are so much like ourselves
No responsibility comes without the ability to fulfil it
