#Theweekthatwas @ 16/08/2026

A week of cut through and appreciation had several lessons:

  1. Greatness is seldom built in the spotlight - it's built in the quiet moments, often when everyone else is asleep

  2. There is only one truth and it's neither mine nor yours

  3. The pain of hearing the truth can be severe but it is necessary

  4. Being grateful for what you have and striving for more are not mutually exclusive concepts

  5. Hatred of evil or injustice is acceptable; hatred of other humans is not

  6. When used as a means to hide things, incomplete truths are no different to complete lies

  7. The prescription for ignorance is knowledge; the prescription for ignoring is action

  8. Boredom is a choice, not a state of being

  9. If you're in comparison mode you're only happy when you see people less than you

  10. When you're in growth mode you're only happy when you see people more than you

  11. Worldviews are like lenses or filters through which we see or experience the world

  12. Nothing prepares you for parenthood quite like parenting
