A week of fighting off bugs and germies had several lessons:

  1. Never underestimate the power in and of the pause

  2. No matter where you are right now, it is exactly where you are meant to be

  3. That job you hate is the bridge to your next best thing; make the most of it, do you best at it

  4. The labels we assign ourselves are like iron-on tattoos - we can change them

  5. We will always be imbalanced until we love the Creator more than the created

  6. Not all gifts come in shiny wrapping

  7. Fatherhood is not for the fainthearted nor is it for those who wish to avoid life's greatest joys

  8. Unless you're the cape-wearing kind, you might not realise that you're someone's hero

  9. The ability to hold multiple perspectives simultaneously is a rare trait

  10. Ambiguity and confusion are not the same thing and therefore need different treatments

  11. Sharing is not only caring, it's also building, growing, multiplying and scaling

  12. Wisdom is realising that you are the boss of what your wife told you you're the boss of
