#Theweekthatwas @ 08/06/2025

A week of preparation and execution taught me that:

  1. Communication without context is significantly less effective than when it's contextualised

  2. Perspective changes minds as it does hearts

  3. Having a worldview that is different to other more dominant ones is both challenging and powerful

  4. "I see you" are three of the most powerful words one can say to express acknowledgement and appreciation #sawubona

  5. When people are not at the centre of your decision-making, things eventually unravel

  6. If you're in a leadership position and all you talk about is yourself, your "leadership" is just that: a position

  7. Attaining "name and fame" (whether sought or not) could be one's ticket to arrogance

  8. In the modern workplace, loyalty is often a one-way street

  9. Worship is commonly associated with a deity but many of us worship much lower forms of creation like wealth, prestige, fame and desire

  10. Silence on matters of justice must be met with noise - lots of it

  11. Discipline is often mistaken to breed rigidity when, in fact, it builds resilience

  12. Great leadership attracts great followership

  13. Intention has the power to turn the ordinary into extraordinary
