#Theweekthatwas @ 11/10/2026

An emotive week had some deep lessons:

  1. In a public-facing position, accountability and redemption go hand-in-hand

  2. We're all sinners; only some of us acknowledge and repent while others see no fault at all

  3. There's a difference between serving and saving - only one of these is a role for human beings

  4. Difference can be used as an opportunity to learn or as a means to divide

  5. Putting your hand up because you have the requisite capability and experience is not arrogance, it's a responsibility

  6. Silence in the face of oppression is in itself violence

  7. When communicating, your message isn't half as important as how it's conveyed

  8. You cannot claim to live your values and remain silent about things that matter at the same time

  9. Humans were never created to have professional selves and distinctly different personal selves

  10. If you have "professional" values and "personal" values as distinct from each other, don't be surprised to be exhausted, dissatisfied and burnt out

  11. Every human has the right to life; if you disagree, you're either deranged or incredibly misled

  12. Your past doesn't have to define you unless you choose not to learn and grow from it

I teach this. I still struggle with it.
